August FairyLoot: Mutinous Pirates

The August Fairyloot box reached my doorstep and I was initially so excited! It seemed to be stocked with fun items, plus they've really been hyping up the textile items in their boxes lately, as well as their exclusive book editions. I didn't know that I loved sprayed pages so much, but I do! But oh man, just like last month, there was one item in this box did not live up to expectations, though I'd say overall it was pretty decent. Read on for a full unboxing!

Water Bottle - KDP Letters

Okay, the water bottle is cute but I freaking love the canvas bag that it came in! I can hide all sorts of beverages in this, can't I? Anyway, the quote is from Pirates of the Caribbean and it seems to be pretty well-made.

Pirate Wax Seal

This is everything to me because I recently got back into writing snail mail again and I am hoarding all the wax seals! I have one with my initial but I have been looking for more whimsical seals, so this came just in time. Also, I appreciate that the wax has a wick for easy use and it's sooo glittery and pretty!

Hanging Flag - Reverie and Ink

Okay, I love this quote. And when I saw this wall hanging, I knew exactly where I wanted to put it up in our new house. BUT THEN I NOTICED THE TYPO! WHYYYY, FAIRYLOOT, WHYYYY? Unless I can repurpose this for my new junk journal, it's going in the trash unfortunately. Note: Fairyloot sent an email acknowledging this error and a replacement item will be sent in about 30 days!

Pirate Magnet - Miss Phi

This small item didn't really catch my attention. I wasn't a huge fan of Daughter of the Pirate King, plus the quote seems rather squished onto the magnet. I wish they had swapped this quote on the magnet with the one on the hanging flag.

Prince Elian Candle - Nerd Poured Candles

I actually read the book that this character is from! To Kill a Kingdom was phenomenal and this Prince Elian candle smells great! It has gold glitter too, perfect for the Prince of Midas.

Sweet Peat Sugar Scrub - Geeky Clean

This sugar scrub is inspired by a plant in the featured book! It smells delightful and I'll probably treat myself to it this weekend!

This month, we received a card advertising the MinaLima editions of classic fairy tales, which I do collect! The art is stunning. Also, the excerpt from King of Scars folds out into a pretty awesome poster. I can't wait for this book's release!

These Rebel Waves, by Sarah Raasch

The featured book this month is an exclusive edition of These Rebel Waves by Sarah Raasch and look at just how stunning it is! Not only did it come with gorgeous artwork on the author letter, but the pages are sprayed a stunning green, and it is actually signed by the author! I am loving these exclusive editions more and more because they truly add a unique touch to my bookshelf.

Goodreads Summary

Adeluna is a soldier. Five years ago, she helped the magic-rich island of Grace Loray overthrow its oppressor, Argrid, a country ruled by religion. But adjusting to postwar life has not been easy. When an Argridian delegate vanishes during peace talks with Grace Loray’s new Council, Argrid demands brutal justice—but Lu suspects something more dangerous is at work.

Devereux is a pirate. As one of the outlaws called stream raiders who run rampant on Grace Loray, he pirates the island’s magic plants and sells them on the black market. But after Argrid accuses raiders of the diplomat’s abduction, Vex becomes a target. An expert navigator, he agrees to help Lu find the Argridian—but the truth they uncover could be deadlier than any war.

Benat is a heretic. The crown prince of Argrid, he harbors a secret obsession with Grace Loray’s forbidden magic. When Ben’s father, the king, gives him the shocking task of reversing Argrid’s fear of magic, Ben has to decide if one prince can change a devout country—or if he’s building his own pyre.

As conspiracies arise, Lu, Vex, and Ben will have to decide who they really are . . . and what they are willing to become for peace

And here we are! What did you think about this month's box? The theme for next month is Starcrossed Swoons and features items inspired by Twilight, Strange The Dreamer, A Court of Thorns and Roses, Shadowhunters, Shadow and Bone and The Star-Touched Queen. The book will come with sprayed pages again, and will actually be signed by the author! I have a very good idea of what book it will be (hint: I've read and reviewed it on my blog very recently) and am looking forward to receiving this exclusive edition)!

Note: Fairyloot sent an email acknowledging the error in the wall hanging and a replacement item will be sent in about 30 days!
