Villains Duology: Review

Happy 2019 everyone!

I consider myself to be a pretty loyal fan of Victoria Schwab’s- so much so that I’ve been to three of her signings and all of my books are signed by her, including a copy of The Steel Prince comic. Watching her stories rise to meteoric success has been thrilling, because it means that so many more people can enjoy the worlds that I’ve discovered. One of her series that I hadn’t read yet though, was Villains, which consisted of two books. Vicious was published in 2013 and the sequel, Vengeful, was only just released late last year in September 2018. So, it was high time that I read them both in succession and I’m really glad that I was able to squeeze them into my 2018 reading schedule! Read on for a spoiler-free review of both books.

Ignite the Stars: Review

As an Asian-American female, the cover of Ignite the Stars by Maura Milan absolutely took my breath away. YAS! Own that cover! Own the stars and space! This book is full of action and features a realistic science fiction world that I could actually get behind- it’s rare for me to not be cynical about sci-fi settings- and I can’t wait for more readers to get this in their hands! Note: I received a digital e-galley from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Heart of Iron: Review

I received Heart of Iron, by Ashley Poston, in a recent Fairyloot box and I was STUNNED by the gorgeous purple sprayed pages. Billed as an Anastasia retelling set in space, I knew I was in for an adventure because Ashley Poston's writing is so witty and brilliant. Her first novel, Geekerella, mesmerized me- and Heart of Iron was no different! With a cast full of diverse characters and a plot subtly reminiscent of Anastasia, this was such a unique and fun read!
